WHAT WE ARE
SPIN.
The Sustainable Plant Innovation Network, short SPIN, is a network of biological and socio-ethical crop development and innovation.
Today, (Swiss) agriculture is confronted with challenges conventional methods can no longer cope with.
Soil degradation, environmental pollution with pesticides and fertilizers, loss of biodiversity, eutrophication of waters, dependence on giant seed corporation and reduced food quality are not just buzzwords, but real problems that people all over the world are trying to face with various means and that are crying out for alternatives.
WHAT WE DO
Give agriculture an innovative twist.
The association SPIN wants to support a long-term oriented, ecological agriculture and sets the focus on the preservation, research and further development of the biological, social and ethical-cultural foundation of crops.
In addition, we incorporate goals and practices of sustainable agriculture, agroecology, regenerative agriculture, permaculture and market gardening, for example soil-conserving, no-till methods or the search for and distribution of perennial crops.

Specifically, SPIN's commitment includes the following points:
-
networking platform for people and companies involved in our concerns
-
training courses and further education seminars
-
public relations activities, generation of information material and writing of publications
-
operation of display gardens and cultivation experiments for show purposes
-
project advice and coordination
-
acquisition of funds for joint and individual projects
-
takeover and mediation of the fiduciary administration of funded and eligible projects

CATEGORIES
Natural and legal persons who support the purpose of the association can become members of SPIN. We distinguish between the following membership categories:
Individual members are natural persons who are interested in plant innovation and want to support the association, as well as agricultural managers who cultivate or want to cultivate varieties that are promoted by the association or that have been developed with the support of the association, or people who are involved in breeding processes themselves or want to be involved.
Organizations such as NGOs, associations and foundations, companies or institutions that are interested in or already advocate the diversity or breeding of old or new cultivated plants.
BECOME A MEMBER
Ok - but what is the point of membership?
Apart from the fact that we are trying to save the world together or at least make agriculture more sustainable, SPIN offers a platform for the exchange of information, resources and experience and easier access to financial support for projects. Convinced?
